Bearing is the name given to a rotating element, which reduces the friction between a shaft and the parts connected to this system that supports and facilitates its operation. In some countries, it is known as filming, rolinera, balero, bolillero, balinera, bearing or bearing.
The manufacturing of the bearings is a very special technology, given that the procedures necessary to achieve the sphericity of the ball are perfect. The material is subjected to a thermal, abrasive treatment in absolute vacuum chambers. The final product is near perfect, saving the adverse effect of gravity in the manufacturing process.
Each class of bearings shows characteristic properties, which depend on its design and which make it more functional for a given application. For example, deep groove ball bearings can withstand radial loads as well as small axial loads. They have low friction and can be produced with great precision. Therefore, they are preferred for small and medium size electric motors. Cylindrical roller bearings can withstand very heavy radial loads. Spherical roller bearings support considerable loads and are oscillating, which allows them to assume bending of the shaft, between two bearings, which support the same shaft.
